Offset or Flat printed Invitations:

Text is flat.
Flat or offset printing is a less formal look and is often used for informal weddings or other special events. Flat printed invitation is exactly like it sounds, the ink lays flat on the paper.

Most invitations through out the site are printed using Thermography technology. There are several card stock and invitation styles that require flat or offset printing. These may include photo invitations, shiny card stocks, parchment and some linen stocks.

Foil Stamping:
Text is slightly raised or flat.
Foil Stamping - Thank you notes
Used mostly for thank you notes, favors, bridal accessories and some Holiday cards. Can be used for some invitation stocks upon request. Heated dies with raised lettering or images press the foil onto the paper stock. Heat and pressure assist in bonding the foil to the paper. Foil stamping may have a bit of a raised look - or be flat, depending on the paper stock being used.

Not all printing methods are able to be used on all paper types. Be sure to get a sample of any invitation stock you are interested in purchasing and verify that the method of printing you are interested in is available for the card stock you want to use to print your wedding invitations on.
